Alumni Profile: Stacey Farneth Caron

STACEY FARNETH CARON
Years Marched: 1981, 82

Section: Colorguard 
Rode on Bus: 1981 the “Suburban” bus; 1982 the “Ghetto” bus (she was among the first to ride it) 
Most Memorable Stadium/Show Site: U.S. Open A Class in Marion 
Favorite Blooo song: “Drum Solo always rocked it for me and I loved Root Beer Rag and as an Alum, I LOVED Autumn Leaves the year my sister Cindy marched.”
Prized Bluecoat/Drum Corps possession: My Bluecoats patch from 1981, so much history to be part of.  Also the U.S. Open medal.”
Currently living in:
Paradise Valley, Arizona


Current Family:
Married to Jeff Caron and have two sons, Nathan and Justin.  “Yes, I hope and pray they decide to march: one brass, one drummer!”

After leaving drum corps: Stacey spent 12 years in dentistry in Cleveland, Ohio as a registered Dental Hygienist. In 2003 she co-founded Spellbinders PaperArts (go to the website), a company that manufacturers die cutting and embossing products for the arts and crafts industry. Her products are distributed worldwide and in major craft chain stores in the U.S. as well as appearing on QVC and HSN on cable networks.
How the Bluecoats made a difference: The corps, and the guard, taught her dedication and the “never give up” attitude. She cites these attributes as key to aiding in her business success. She was awarded “Enterprising Women of the Year” award from Enterprising Women Magazine and her business has ranked the past two years in the Inc 500/5000 listing, which ranks the fastest growing privately held companies in America.

DCI's opening night is in Akron, Ohio, hosted by the Bluecoats!

Saturday, June 16th is "Innovations in Brass Presents: The 2012 DCI Tour Premiere Live Event", a premium drum corps experience at the brand-new, state-of-the-art, InfoCision Stadium - Summa Field, in Akron, Ohio!

Special 40th Anniversary Event - June 15, 2012

You are invited to attend our 40th Anniversary Celebration on Friday, June 15th at InfoCision Stadium - Summa Field in Akron, Ohio.  
 This great event will feature:

  • Program recognizing and celebrating 40 years of history, viewed from the stands of the incredible InfoCision Stadium on the campus of the University of Akron.
  • Debut performance by the 2012 Bluecoats, including a special tribute to our corps' history.
  • An opportunity to visit and connect with Bluecoats past and present at a special reception on the stadium's club level complete with refreshments and a cash bar.
  • Opportunity for families to spend time with their corps members before they leave for tour! 
  • Bluecoats memorabilia, souvenirs, silent auction, raffle and more!

40th Anniversary - Pancake Breakfast

Join us on Saturday morning, June 16th from 9:00am - 12:00pm at the Bluecoats' Champion Event Center for our 40th Anniversary Community Pancake Breakfast.  For $5 per person (paid at the door), a breakfast of all-you-can-eat pancakes and sausage will be prepared by the North Canton Knights of Columbus and served by the North Canton Boys Scouts.
This event is a perfect opportunity to continue celebrating our 40th Annivesary, view our new home in North Canton, meet our community partners, check out corps' memorobilia, and more!
